OneBridge Welcomes Service 1st Credit Union

service1st_logo Service 1st Credit Union located in Tampa, FL. is a state chartered, federally insured financial institution originally chartered in 1939 as Tamiami Bus Lines Credit Union.  As the Credit Union added other transportation and industrial companies, the name was changed to Transportation and Industry Credit Union.  In 1996, in order to better reflect their expanding membership base, the name was again changed to the current Service 1st Credit Union.

Service 1st will use our Debit Connection solution and will convert their MasterCard debit cards to the Visa Debit brands.  They are expected to go live with Debit Connection mid year.

We are excited to welcome Charlie Carpenter, President and CEO, and his entire staff to OneBridge and look forward to serving them and their cardholders!

Momentum is Building for Contactless Payments:  OneBridge Can Help You Get Ahead of the Curve

As consumers become more and more educated on the convenience and ease of use of contactless payments, your institution should be prepared to offer this service.

In our last issue of Touchpoints, we communicated the idea of an "Experience Economy".  Part of an experience economy means creating and maintaining loyalty by offering what consumers want and need.  In addition, the article talked about how today’s consumer demands speed, convenience and flexibility with their card.  Is your financial institution prepared to offer the latest technological innovation to support your cardholders’ needs?

In an independent online survey of 3,135 respondents commissioned by the Smart Card Alliance, 2,447 respondents (78.1%) had used or were likely to use contactless payment.  The 13% of those who have already used contactless payment indicated they had a positive experience and said that it was both fast and easy to use.

In a December 2006, article titled "Retail Contactless Payment Systems:  Improving Customer Retention & Loyalty", the Aberdeen Group states that "58% of all respondents across multiple retail classifications indicated that they plan to implement contactless payment solutions within the next 18-24 months."  In fact, according to Visa, over 32,000 retailers from 20 top brands are already accepting Visa payWave payments, and the list is rapidly growing.

Here’s just a few of the national merchants accepting Visa payWave:

bp   cvs     mcdonalds      kfc       7eleven  walgreens

To find merchants that accept Visa payWave in your area, use Visa’s merchant directory by clicking on the link below.  Simply select your state and metropolitan area to view the list of merchants.

Contactless payments and Visa payWave is an excellent way for you to continue to grow your card programs and drive cardholder loyalty.

If you would like to participate in Visa payWave you may add it to any of your consumer credit and debit card programs with OneBridge.  Adding this feature to your program doesn’t mean you have to mass reissue cards either.  Talk to us about a strategy of adding it to cards according to your current reissue schedule.  With OneBridge as your processor, you can get ahead of curve!

OneBridge Adds Harland UltraData to Its Growing List of Core System Interfaces

The development of our interface to Harland UltraData is complete, with the certification close behind.  Live processing is expected to begin in September of this year.  Their development team has been great to work with and we’re excited about the cooperative relationship we have formed with them.  If your institution is considering UltraData as a new core solution, please give us a call.  We will share details about the great functionality specific to this interface.

PRM Coming Soon!

Last year OneBridge announced that we licensed the Proactive Risk Manager (PRM) fraud detection software from ACI Worldwide.   Our first commitment however was to complete the development and deployment of Fraud Scout, our automated cardholder notification solution.   We successfully added it to our arsenal of risk management services and with great bottom line results for all of our clients.  At the same time we also started our behind the scenes work for a successful implementation of PRM.

Why add PRM to the OneBridge Risk Management Services?  One reason is that PRM offers a flexible analysis and review workstation.  It provides a snapshot of cardholder information including data delivered to OneBridge in the Cardholder Information File and the cardholder’s authorization history for the past 30 days.  Notes can be added or letters generated from the workstation.  Fraud can be marked and used for further analysis.  PRM also provides the ability to implement additional velocity monitors that can be used to either trigger outbound Fraud Scout calls or automatically add a soft block on a card.

PRM also includes a scoring engine that will supplement VAA scores on debit card transactions.  Adding the PRM score to your debit card risk strategies can increase detection quality and drive down false positives.

The release of PRM is slated for 2nd Quarter 2008.  Stayed tuned for more information…
